National Football League: Jets Owner Woody Johnson: ‘If We Can Just Complete a Pass, it Would Look Good’

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson expressed concerns about the quarterback play as his team struggles with an 0-7 record, emphasizing his belief in head coach Aaron Glenn during his first public statements since the offseason. 55bmww Arriving at the NFL’s annual fall owners meeting, Johnson defended Glenn’s management of the defense and left the choice of starting quarterback to the coaching staff.
Quarterback Justin Fields has started six games, missing one due to injury, and was replaced by backup Tyrod Taylor during the second half of a recent game against the Carolina Panthers.
Defensive Strength and Offensive Struggles
“The defense is pretty good. If we can just complete a pass, it would look good,” Johnson remarked. “We’ve got to complete some passes. You’ve got to convince them that you can do something. Otherwise, it’s hard to have a game that you can win.”
The Jets currently rank last in the league in passing offense and remain the only team without a win this season.
“Well, the record speaks for itself, but I don’t go to any game thinking I’m going to lose,” Johnson stated. “I see what you see. But I see more hope than you do gcash bingo. You can’t win with hope. It helps.”
Confidence in Management
Johnson expressed confidence in the decisions to appoint Darren Mougey as the general manager and Glenn as the head coach.
When asked who he thinks should start at quarterback, the 78-year-old replied: “That’s completely up to the coach jiliace.online. I’m not going to be involved at all in any of that. This is what they’re paid to do, and this is what they’re experts at doing, and so they’ll make the right decision – with what we’ve got.”
The organization has moved on from Aaron Rodgers after a disappointing 5-12 season in 2024. Rodgers has since thrown for 14 touchdowns and five interceptions, helping the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 4-2 start and leading the AFC North.
Johnson declined to say whether he regrets letting Rodgers go 8k8 review. “I never look back,” he said. “You have to look forward in football. When you cut players, they could be a Hall of Famer. You just never know. But Aaron’s playing great now. He’s in a situation that’s working for him.”
Long Road Ahead
